President & CEO
Michael R. Rehfeld is a founding Partner and President/CEO of Intrusion Technologies a North Carolina based life safety systems provider, and co-developer of the patented AIMS® (Active Intruder Mitigation) System. He is also a founding partner of Realistic Training Solutions, a leading provider of threat recognition and first-responder training programs. With over 32 years in Public Safety, Michael has functioned as a Law Enforcement Officer, Paramedic, Firefighter, Instructor, K9 Handler and Incident Commander. Michael was instrumental in developing safety programs to save Firefighters in life threatening situation, and has published articles and delivered programs on firefighter safety and survival as well as violent event mitigation. He is a recognized leader in the field of active assailant and violent intruder prevention and mitigation.
Vice President - Technical Division
Stephen Hobbs is a co-founding Partner and Vice President- Technical Division for Intrusion Technologies. Steve brings a valuable and significant mix of technical and public safety experience to Intrusion Technologies. His 33-year tenure in the fire service, including roles in inspection and code enforcement, gives him a detailed understanding of the complex world of public safety as well as the need for critical decision making. Stephen also served as the lead technician for Automated Protection Systems, a premier security/fire system installation and integration company. His 15-year tenure in the security, fire alarm, and system integration industry is the backbone of the technical arm of the company.
Daniel "Zeke" Mathena
Vice President - Tactical Division
Daniel “Zeke” Mathena is a co- founding Partner and Director of Tactical Training for Intrusion Technologies. Zeke is a law enforcement and education professional with more than 30 years of experience in the field of law enforcement and special tactics. He is a recognized leader in the field of Active Shooter training and event mitigation. Zeke is a former law enforcement supervisor, SWAT Commander, and police academy instructor and he was also a managing partner of a successful computer system design start-up business. Highly regarded as an expert in SWAT tactics and training, his ability to design and deliver effective training programs and best practices enhances Intrusion Technologies’ mission to protect and save lives. Zeke also served as one of 10 DHS Active Shooter Planning Workshop contract instructors best practices for addressing the threat of mass violence.
Vice President - Business Development
David Baird is a Partner and Vice President of Business Development for Intrusion Technologies. In this role, he is responsible for strategy, direct and channel partnering. In addition, he advises the company on capital strategies and strategic alliances. David has more than 33 years experience at a senior management level in the commercial real estate consulting, brokerage and development industry, and is a recognized market leader in the representation of corporate and institutional occupiers, investors and developers. He has represented Fortune 500 companies and public sector entities alike in complex development and investment transactions, both in the US and abroad, helping them to optimize their facility needs. His unique perspective on workplace/work-space trends, facility design and construction enables the Intrusion Technologies team to deliver customized, high-value solutions to clients looking to protect their most valuable assets- their people.
